Protomold Design Cube This cube has been designed to illustrate several important considerations when designing any part to be injection molded. It showcases a range of available surface finishes, examples of good and bad form for bosses, gussets, and ribs. It also demonstrates the impact on part quality of overly thick or thin sections, as well as ways to incorporate holes and their potential effect on resin flow. Register and get yours at no cost. Interactive, web-based quotes Our automated quoting system accepts customers 3D CAD models and returns a detailed interactive quote in hours (along with suggested design changes, if appropriate). Upload a part today and interact freely with your quote to change materials and quantities while immediately viewing the impact on price and delivery. Upload a part today Get complex, injection molded parts FAST! The Protomold Tours demonstrates the more interesting and complex features you can design into your injection molded parts. It comes with an informational user key that describes the mold-making techniques used to produce part features like text on ribs, mushroom studs, clips, and more. Several years ago, Black Diamond decided to apply its expertise to a new area free-ride ski boots. These boots are used in a certain niche of skiing known as boundary-free skiing. Boundary-free skiers strap their skis to a backpack, hike up a mountain (far from a conventional ski resort), and then ski down private slopes. Boundary-free skiers need the comfort and functionality of hiking boots for the climb up as well as the fit and performance of alpine ski boots for the ride down. The boots available at the time were so unsatisfactory that some skiers opted to use two pairs, carrying one pair in their pack so theyd have the right boot available when they needed it.
